I still have no idea what the pirate thing was about - apparently it was all over and done with by the time I actually got that link (never mind posted it).
PS Thanks for your books suggestions, I will follow through on them (Pratchett I already read but the other suggestions are new).
I couldn't help noticing the deletions - I had a stupid anonymous post (I know, that's an oxymoron) in that thread and had to delete it too.
Claire, it was just spam posts that I deleted. They arrived within moments of putting the post up, so it must be some automated spammer. Grrrrr.
I didn't want to post this as a comment as it is very off topic, but I have a crazy person harassing me, so Hi Bron,
I have limited access to my blog because someone is harassing me. The only way to do this (which is ridiculously inflexible) is to restrict usage to specified Bravejournallers. This is a real pain as there are plenty of non Bravejournallers like you that I like to visit and to receive visits from. The only benefit of this restriction is that at least the idiot harassing me can't follow that link into your blog,
